There are zillions of blogs & sites with great patterns and tutorials for crafts, sewing, knit & crochet. We’ve gathered just a small sample to get you started. If you have suggestions for additions to the list, just make a comment and include the url. We don’t want to list sites that are heavy on advertising, primarily for sales, or have only a few freebies.
A Variety of Crafts
Favecrafts has an abundance of craft ideas and instructions. A popup window will ask you to register, but you don’t need to register to access the site and the information. If you don’t want to register, just close the popup window and start browsing.
Martha Stewart Crafts is a comprehensive site with lots of great craft ideas and instructions. It is well organized by craft types and themes, and there is also a blog.
Sewing
Not Martha’s tutorials cover both sewing and food projects. Why should we have to choose?
Noodlehead has sewing projects and tutorials.
Sew, Mama, Sew has a fantastic blog and lots of great tutorials.
Collette Patterns has a beautiful blog with tips, interviews, and a bit of fashion history.
Sew Hip is not a blog, per se, but a community where you can ask all kinds of questions, share your latest projects, and help others.
Knit & Crochet
Ravelry is the place to be for knitters and crocheters (is that a word?). The catch is–you have to register to enter the site. The latch is–registration is free.
